If I were to describe Van Arno’s work as Epic Lowbrow Historic Surrealism it would not say enough. I met him back in my Holyland days in Los Angeles and we were friends from the start. We worked on a few things together and traded some art with mutual respect. The piece I have is one of his early “cut outs” Titled “Jackson Piglet Rejects Formalism” but I wanted to put one of his more recent works up here which highlights his mastery of gravitational forces. I was sad to hear his ticker gave out but he had a good ride. I’ll miss him. He was a nice guy. Ask anyone.
